Citrate synthase and caspase3 activity Samples stored at 80 C were used to detect citrate synthase and caspase3 activity. Citrate synthase activity was determined by measuring coenzyme A formation at 450 nm with a Citrate Synthase Activity Assay Kit (H-46659, Shanghai Hengyuan Biological Technology Co., Ltd., China) according to the manufacturer’s instruction (Song et al., 2018). Caspase3 activity in cell lysates was determined using a Caspase3 Activity Kit (H-46633, Shanghai Hengyuan Biological Technology Co., Ltd., China) following the manufacturer’s protocols (Xu et al., 2018).
